A medical approach that starts with your health

Weight is affected by more than food and exercise. Hormones, thyroid function, insulin resistance, sleep, stress, medications and existing conditions can all make it harder. Your plan starts by looking at what is actually getting in the way. Every weight loss patient receives:

  • A full health evaluation and history review
  • Lab work drawn here in the office
  • A plan built by your provider around your body and schedule
  • Regular follow-up visits to track progress and adjust
  • Practical support to build habits that last

Your first visit

  1. Your story and your goals. What you have tried, what worked, what did not, and how you want to feel a few months from now.
  2. Medical review. Your provider looks at conditions, medications, sleep, stress and hormone changes that may be affecting your weight, and checks blood pressure and other risk factors.
  3. Labs. Tests are ordered as needed and drawn in the office.
  4. Your plan. You leave with clear next steps, and medication options if they are appropriate for you.

GLP-1 weight loss medications

When it is medically appropriate, your provider may prescribe an FDA-approved GLP-1 medication as part of your plan. These medications reduce appetite, slow digestion and help regulate blood sugar. They are prescribed only after a full evaluation, and you are monitored closely while you take them. They are often considered when lifestyle changes alone have not been enough or when metabolic factors make weight loss harder.

Phentermine for short-term appetite control

Phentermine is an appetite suppressant that can be used short-term to help start weight loss. It can help with cravings, portion control and persistent hunger. Your provider decides whether it is appropriate based on your health history and blood pressure, and follows you closely during treatment.

Not everyone needs medication. The right plan depends on your health, your goals and what is safest for you.

Lab work that guides your plan

Your labs are drawn here in the office, and samples are processed by LabCorp. Depending on your history, testing may include:

  • Thyroid function
  • Blood sugar and A1c
  • Insulin resistance markers
  • Metabolic panel
  • Cholesterol (lipid panel)
  • Vitamin levels
  • Inflammation markers

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be a certain weight to start?

Not necessarily. Many people start because their weight is affecting blood sugar, blood pressure, joints or energy. A consultation is the best way to find out what fits.

Will I get a GLP-1 medication?

Only if it is medically appropriate for you. Your provider decides after a full evaluation and labs, and monitors you closely if you start one.

How fast will I lose weight?

Everyone is different. Steady progress you can keep up is the goal, and your plan is adjusted at each follow-up.

What if I have failed before?

That is common, and it is a reason medical guidance helps. Many past attempts fail because the plan did not account for a person's health, medications or schedule.
